Celebrating our Sesquicentennial

Dear Warhawk Family,

Our university is about to mark a significant milestone in our history. In 2018-19, UW-Whitewater will celebrate its 150th anniversary. This is an outstanding accomplishment and speaks both to our legacy of excellence, and our ever-growing impact in our region and in Wisconsin.

We have big plans to celebrate. The theme of our sesquicentennial is 150 Years: Inspire. Engage. Transform.

When I think about the purpose of our celebration — honoring our past and focusing on an even brighter future — those are the perfect words to get us thinking about UW-Whitewater's impact. Who inspired you at this campus? What activities and organizations engaged you? How did this great university transform your life?

And, most critically, how can we make sure these transformational experiences continue for generations of Warhawks to come?

I look forward to working with all of you to answer that question, and I hope that you will take time to reconnect, to reminisce, to get involved and to show your Warhawk pride.

Festivities will kickoff with a Purple and White Gala on April 21, 2018, a concert series, golf outing, special Family Fest and Homecoming events in the fall, community service challenge and the commissioning of a new alma mater. UW-Whitewater's celebration will officially conclude in April of 2019, when campus hosts the Board of Regents. We'll be sharing more information as the anniversary approaches. It is certain to be a memorable and exciting time in our history.
