About Our Baseball Clinics

The purpose of our clinics is to teach the proper fundamentals of pitching, hitting, catching, and infield play. Our camps stress the importance of attitude, confidence and dedication in order to give all youngsters an opportunity to succeed in baseball and life.

Register Early! Space is limited. All clinics have reached maximum participants the last four years.

Fall Baseball Camp

Designed As The All-Inclusive 1-Day Clinic

  • Participants should be prepared for outdoor activities on nearby Prucha Field
  • Prucha Field is a synthetic field and therefore is capable of accommodating play all year long

Winter Baseball Camp

Designed As The Two-Day Intensive Clinic

Intense training in the following skill areas. Choose From:

  • Pitching
  • Hitting
  • Fielding
  • Catching

Spring Baseball Camp

Designed As The One Day "Tune-Up" Clinic

Designed to refresh and prepare players for their upcoming season. Skill areas include:

  • Pitching
  • Hitting
  • Fielding
  • Catching

General Information

Location

Kachel Fieldhouse and Prucha Field, UW-Whitewater campus.

The Kachel Fieldhouse is located south of Perkin's Stadium and adjacent to Williams Center on the UW-W Campus

Eligibility

The clinics are open to anyone 8 - 18 years old, including high school seniors.

Equipment

Each camper should bring:

  • Bat
  • Glove
  • Protective Cup
  • Batting Gloves
  • Gym Shoes (no cleats)
  • Batting Helmet (if possible)

Warhawk apparel will be available for purchase on site!

Lunch

Bring a bag lunch or money. (Rocky's pizza will be available for purchase)

Clinic Staff

John Vodenlich, Head Coach

Coach John Voldenlich John Vodenlich enters his ninth season as the Warhawks’ Head Coach, with his teams compiling a record of 290-95-1 and earning an amazing nine WIAC titles over the past eleven years. The 2011 Warhawks completed a 37-13 record and finished fifth at the NCAA Division III World Series 2007, Vodenlich was inducted into the UW-Whitewater Athletic Hall of Fame. In 2005 he led the Warhawks to the National Championship and was named National Coach of the Year by the American Baseball Coaches Association. Vodenlich, who played for the Warhawks from 1989-92, was a two-time All-American as a catcher and received his Bachelor’s degree in 1992 and his M.B.A. in 1994. He then went on to receive the WBCA Wisconsin College Coach of the Year for 2004 and 2008.


Armando Hernandez, Assistant Coach

Armando Hernandez Armando Hernandez is entering his 18th year as an Assistant Coach at UW-Whitewater. During his Warhawk playing career, Hernandez acquired 2 Gold Glove awards and was an All-Conference selection as a second baseman. Hernandez teaches middle school in the Kettle Moraine School District, and is the Head Baseball Coach at the high school. His 2008 team finished second in the state tournament, the best finish since 1988.


Brian Gillogly, Assistant Coach

Brian GilloglyAs the newest member to the staff Gillogly directed the Luther College baseball team for the past ten years where his teams compiled six twenty-plus win seasons and conference championships in 2007 and 2009 when the Norse won a school record 31 games. Over a five year period, 2005-2009, Luther made appearances in the National Division III polls. He earned Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and Iowa Baseball Coaches Association College Coach of the Year honors for the 2007 season. The Norse went 220-172 under Gillogly.


Justin Stewart, Special Instructor

Justin Stewart Coach Stewart begins his fifth season on the Warhawk staff. Justin only knows winning having captained Warhawk teams to four consecutive WIAC titles, a national 3rd place finish, and a national title in 2005.


Ben Prather, Special Instructor

Ben PratherBen joins the staff for his third season as hitting instructor after returning from a professional career overseas. Ben was a former Warhawk standout and two-year captain. Ben led the 2008 team that finished 3rd in the nation.

Ryan Callahan, Pitching Coach

Ryan CallahanCallahan returns for his fourth season as the Warhawk Pitching Coach after three years in professional baseball with the Twins and Giants. Callahan was a standout pitcher and outfielder for the Warhawks from 2000-04 and captained his team to a 3rd place finish in the NCAA Championships in 2004.



Insurance

Each camper will be covered by a limited accident insurance policy. The cost of insurance is included in the registration fee. Precautions will be taken to prevent any accidents, and there will be camp health supervisors available. The insurance includes primary insurance coverage up to $1000, secondary coverage up to $5000 and $300 maximum dental insurance. (Insurance does not cover pre-existing injuries and is for camp-related accidents only.)
