RECREATION/LEISURE STUDIES MINOR/EMPHASIS
The recreation and leisure service profession is interdisciplinary in
nature requiring educational training both of a general and specialized
nature. Many of the areas of specialization fall within the realm of
business, education, sociology, social welfare, psychology, physical
education, public administration, communications, geography, theatre, art,
and music. It is for this reason that the minor is an interdisciplinary
minor which is designed to enhance the student's major area of
professional preparation and expand their employment opportunities to
include related recreation and leisure fields of employment.
