Philosophy & Religious Studies
New Course RELIGST 302 " Religious Ethics." (The comparative study of the ethical dilemmas and discourse within religious narratives and traditions. The course presents selected ethical dilemmas and raises questions requiring students to analyze the positions embedded within religious narratives, and develop their own informed ethical positions. Topics include war, human rights, ecology, economic justice, and sexuality).
Change to the World Religions Minor. (To recognize changes in several courses affecting the World Religions minor. These changes include a change in course numbering, a change in course prefix, addition of a new course, and deletion of several discontinued courses. There is also a change in the required number of 300-400 level elective units to reflect the addition of a required 300 level course).

Prefix change and title change FROM PHILSPHY 365 "Philosophical and Religious Perspectives on Death and Dying TO RELIGST 365 "Religious and Philosophical Perspectives on Death and Dying." ( This course will continue to cover the topics listed and the course description will remain the same. The course emphasis, however, is shifting more toward a religious studies perspective, and the change in the course prefix will reflect this).
Prerequisite change and add crosslisting to AFRIAMR 320 " AHistory of Black Migration in the U.S." ( Since this course is historical in nature and focus, and taught by History department faculty, the cross-listing with the History Department is logical; it should also help bring this course to the attention of a broader range of students. The prerequisite change brings the course in line with other HISTRY and AFRIAM 300-level courses, which have less restrictive prerequisites).
