Crime Reporting
All members of the campus community are urged to report criminal incidents, emergencies and suspicious activity. The campus emergency number is 911 and this should be used for all fire, medical and police emergencies. The non-emergency number is 472-4660.
Crimes in progress, and any other emergencies can be reported directly by any student or employee by dialing 911. The police can also be reached using campus blue light emergency phones or the residence hall lobby phones, which have a campus emergency button. Upon receipt of the call, university police officers are dispatched to the site of the complaint.
Members of the campus community can also report criminal incidents to the following offices, as appropriate:
| Office of Student Life |
UC 253 x1533 |
| Residence Hall Staff |
Various residence halls |
Crimes may be reported to personnel in these offices on a confidential basis, meaning that the complainant may remain anonymous.
In the event of a major emergency, or if there is an event which poses a threat to students, employees, or others, a "Campus Alert Bulletin" will be prepared and may be distributed via postings, e-mail, and/or University Police website.
