Graduation Rates by Institution

The federal Student Right-to-Know legislation requires that graduation rates be disclosed for new freshman entering an institution as full-time students and graduating within 1.5 times the normal time for their programs. The UW System is designed to encourage transfer between institutions. The UW System interprets the "1.5 times the normal time" to mean graduating within six years, even though some UW baccalaureate programs would normally take more than four years to complete. Because the UW-Colleges is a two year institution, it has a different cohort definition under this law. UW-Colleges new freshmen are counted as having completed their programs if they either receive an associate degree or transfer to a baccalaureate institution within three years of entry as full-time students.
