Academic Advising & Exploration Center

Advising Process

All advisees are required to schedule a fifteen minute appointment with their advisor.

The fifteen minute PRE-ADVISE appointment is a great time to update student information, review Academic Advising Report A(AR), important dates and deadlines, identify available and valuable resources, and answer any questions. The Advise appointment will also be scheduled at this time.

Things to Bring to Your Pre-Advise Appointment

  1. Print a copy of your Academic Advising Report (AAR) from the WINS System
  2. You planner or calendar
  3. Questions for your Academic Advisor

A thirty minute ADVISE appointment is scheduled to discuss the registration process and course recommendations for the next semester along with degree requirements and University probation and progression standards.

Things to Bring to Your Advise Appointment

  1. A list of possible classes for the following semester. Utilize the Course Planning Worksheet to record your classes.
  2. Print a copy of your Academic Advising Report (AAR) from the WINS System
  3. Questions for your Academic Advisor

Advisees of the Academic Advising & Exploration Center have holds placed on their records on the WINS System. Holds are released only after completing the advise appointment. Failure to follow the above process may result in the inability to register at the assigned time and date.

Who Uses The Center?

Students with fewer than 24 units and all undeclared students will be assigned an advisor in our office.
