Welcome to the Division of Academic Affairs. Academic Affairs is home to five academic colleges – Arts and Communication, Business and Economics, Education and Professional Studies, Letters and Sciences, and the College of Integrated Studies – as well as Graduate Studies, Continuing Education and 25 other offices that are all focused on providing the highest quality learning experience for our students. We are proud of the over 50 undergraduate and 15 graduate program areas we offer to help students gain the knowledge, skills and experience needed for successful lives and careers. We also offer students options to study online with over 200 course sections regularly offered online and nearly a dozen fully online undergraduate and graduate degree programs. Our program choices also include associate degrees, including the Associate of Arts and Sciences degree we offer at the Rock County branch campus. And, we are a teaching-focused university with an average class size of 28 and a student-to-faculty ration of 22-to-1.
Everyone in the Warhawk family is committed to helping each student thrive, find their passion and be successful in reaching their educational goals. While here, students will learn the latest theories, gain cutting edge skills, and engage in hands-on learning experiences that relate to addressing real world research, challenges and innovations. One hallmark of a UW-Whitewater education is participation in High-Impact Practices, or HIPS, that engage students in working side-by-side with faculty members and peers in research labs, fieldwork, community programs, study abroad, entrepreneurship, and creative endeavors.
We work hard to provide the highest quality educational experience and are proud that we are one of the most affordable public universities in Wisconsin. We also graduate students at rates that are higher than the national average, and students earn higher than average salaries when they graduate. We have hundreds of students who are hired before graduation, as well! So, we know that your educational journey with us will lead to success.
We encourage you to explore the links on our website to learn more about the programs we have to offer and to see all of the wonderful work that our faculty, staff, students and alumni are doing. On these pages, you will also see the diverse students, faculty and staff that make up the Warhawk community. Our campus embraces the ideals of inclusive excellence in all that we do, from the personal attention you will receive from our admissions counselors, advisors and instructors in the classroom to the care we take in hiring our outstanding faculty and staff.
I hope to see you soon on a visit to our beautiful campus. We all look forward to meeting you and talking with you about the opportunities for you to excel at UW-Whitewater.
