      1* Ph.D. Ed.D. Earned doctorate equivalent to the Ph.D. or Ed.D. requiring the minimum equivalent of three full years of graduate study beyond the baccalaureate degree. A refereed** terminal degree in the area of specialization, e.g., M.F.A. in studio arts.
      2 Earned degrees requiring a minimum of three full years of work beyond the baccalaureate degree. All requirements for the doctorate met with the exception of the completion of the dissertation.
      3 A master's degree plus one full year of graduate study as measured by the institution where graduate work is applicable to a degree program. Specialist degree or its equivalent. Two-year master's degree
      4 Master's degree
      5 Baccalaureate degree
      6 No baccalaureate degree

    3. Unresolved questions concerning the assignment of the Educational Code shall be submitted to the University Standards Committee for decision.
    4. * Only doctorates from accredited (Regional Accreditation Associations) colleges and universities will entitle a faculty member of Educational Code 1, but no one granted Educational Code 1 prior to May 1, 1996, shall lose Educational Code 1 on this account.
