| INITIATIVE/PROGRAM |
1. Work to expand the existing connections with organizations, by attending meetings and participating in their events.
2. Develop a plan for developing linkages with local groups and organizations. The plan will include the following:
a. A listing of local communities of color, social service agencies, literacy center, spiritual institutions, and other organizations.
b. Suggested activities that can be worked on collaboratively with the specific group or organization, for example, the Walworth County Private Industry Council may be a viable partner in helping to develop qualified candidates of color for available positions within the UW-Whitewater. Other partners may include the Whitewater Unified School District and the Walworth County Department of Human Services.
c. Time lines for developing specific linkages, with connections to specific expected outcomes.

UWW has developed linkages with the following organizations:·
- The Urban League of Milwaukee (as board member)·
- The Milwaukee Private Industry Council (provided a grant to support the Upward Bound Program)·
- Beloit Girl Scout Council (2 board members, workshop on public sector employment, strategic planning committee)·
- Bray Community Center, Racine (target precollege students for services and recruitment)·
- Wisconsin Educational Opportunity Program·
- Wisconsin Association of Black State Employees·
- Milwaukee Alliance of Black School Educators·
- Thurgood Marshall Scholarship Fund, Milwaukee (board of ambassadors)·
- M-7 Community Development Corporation (Milwaukee County and faith based organizations)·
- Racine/Kenosha Workforce Investment Act (supports school to career programs for Kenosha/Racine)·
- Racine Community Action Center
UW-W has also obtained a grant, Project SWEETT (Southeastern Wisconsin Excellence in Education through Teacher Training), which involves working with a variety of organizations on ESL training.
