Minutes of the January 23, 1998 Meeting
PRESENT: Tom Colwin, George Ferencz, Stuart Glosser, Philip Johns, Michael Longrie, Terry Ostermeier, David Rossbach, Larry Schuetz, Jim Stewart, Richard Telfer, Janet Thatcher, Larry Kenney (for Bonnie Trudell), Lance Urven, and John Washbush
ABSENT: Scott Bradley, Gregory Green, Avanni Hobbs, Ruth Koskela, and Grant Strobel
Dick Telfer called the meeting to order at 2:20 p.m.
George Ferencz moved to approve the agenda. Phil Johns seconded the motion and the motion carried.
The minutes of the December 5, 1997 meeting were approved on a Phil Johns/George Ferencz motion.
John Washbush moved, and Mike Longrie seconded, to receive and record the History department's change of course number from course 740-120 to 740-141 (740-140 had been used within the past 10 years and therefore could not be used as originally requested). The motion carried. Phil Johns then moved to receive and record the change in requisite for course 740-375; Lance Urven seconded the motion and the motion carried.
Mike Longrie moved, and Phil Johns seconded, to approve the new course 680-460(660) Major Authors for the Language and Literatures department. The motion carried.
George Ferencz then moved to receive and record the change in requisite proposals for the Psychology department courses 840-303, 840-304, 840-305, 840-323, 840-331, 840-332, 840-345, and 840-355. John Washbush seconded the motion, which also carried.
Stuart Glosser moved and Tom Colwin seconded a motion to receive and record the change in title of course 880-290 from the Sociology department. The motion carried
Phil Johns then moved to receive and record the special courses that had been approved between December 1, 1997 and January 16, 1998 as listed below:

A question was raised regarding the definition of "lab vs. classroom" hours. Dick Telfer will research specific courses and respond.
