Minutes of the April 3, 1998 Meeting
PRESENT: Tom Colwin, George Ferencz, Stuart Glosser, Avanni Hobbs, Philip Johns, Michael Longrie, Jim Stewart, Janet Thatcher, Richard Telfer (for Bonnie Trudell), Lance Urven, and John Washbush
ABSENT: Michael Beix, Scott Bradley, Gregory Green, Katie Kempfer, Ruth Koskela, Terry Ostermeier, Larry Schuetz, and Grant Strobel

Dick Telfer called the meeting to order at 2:22 p.m.
Tom Colwin moved to approve the agenda with a clarification of the UW-W Curriculum Handbook matrix added as item 3a. Mike Longrie seconded the motion and the motion carried.
The minutes of the March 6, 1998 meeting were approved on a Phil Johns/Janet Thatcher motion.
John Washbush made a motion to approve a correction in the UW-W Curriculum Handbook Matrix. Tom Colwin seconded the motion, and the motion carried.
Tom Colwin then moved to approve the Arts and Communication proposal for clarification of degree requirements. George Ferencz seconded the motion and the motion carried.
The change in the Business Education and Office System's Major and Minor from Office Systems to Computer End-User Technologies was approved on a Stuart Glosser/Janet Thatcher motion.
Phil Johns moved to approve the substantive revision of course 722-310 and to receive and record the change in number for course 722-310. Mike Longrie seconded the motions, which carried.
The motions for a General Studies option, and the receiving and recording of the change in number and change in requisites for course 740-324/524 were approved on a Phil Johns/Lance Urven motion.
John Washbush moved to receive and record the requisite change for course 250-425. Stuart Glosser seconded the motion and the motion carried.
Lance Urven and Phil Johns moved approval of the change in number of credits for course 840-394/594. The motion carried.
Stuart Glosser then moved to receive and record the change in number and title from course 840-497 to 840-499. Phil Johns seconded the motion and the motion carried.
The change in course number from 614-120 to 614-141 was received and recorded on a Phil Johns/ Mike Longrie motion.
John Washbush moved to receive and record the special courses that had been approved between February 28, 1998 and March 27, 1998 as listed below:

George Ferencz seconded the motion, which also carried.
The Curriculum Appeals Process was discussed. The group's consensus was the the process was adequate.
Lance Urven and Mike Longrie made a motion to take the resolution from L & S regarding developing policies and procedures for distance learning off of the table. The motion was approved. There was a discussion of the resolution. The UCC as a whole will investigate. Requests will be made to other colleges as to their procedures and why.
At 3:07 p.m., the meeting adjourned on a Stuart Glosser/John Washbush motion.
