Minutes of the December 5, 1997 Meeting
PRESENT: Scott Bradley, Tom Colwin, George Ferencz, Stuart Glosser, Avanni Hobbs, Philip Johns, Terry Ostermeier, Larry Schuetz, Jim Stewart, Richard Telfer, Janet Thatcher, Lance Urven, and John Washbush
ABSENT: Gregory Green, Ruth Koskela, Michael Longrie, and Grant Strobel

Dick Telfer called the meeting to order at 2:20 p.m.
Phil Johns moved to approve the agenda with two corrections; (1) under agenda item four, 220-489 "Carrer Information" should read "Career Information", and (2) under agenda item eight, the special courses should only be listed once. Janet Thatcher seconded the motion and the motion carried.
The minutes of the November 21, 1997 meeting were approved on a George Ferencz/John Washbush motion.
Stuart Glosser moved, and Janet Thatcher seconded, to approve the Business Education and Office Systems change in major proposals for the Business Education, Business Education Comprehensive, and Business Education Marketing Education Comprehensive majors. The motion carried. George Ferencz moved approval of the new course 220-300(500) Introduction to Business and Marketing Education, Scott Bradley seconded the motion and the motion carried. John Washbush then moved to receive and record the deletion of the two courses 220-252 and 220-489. Stuart Glosser seconded the motion, which also carried.
Janet Thatcher moved, and John Washbush seconded, to approve the change in the Finance (BBA) major for the Finance and Business Law Department. The motion carried.
John Washbush then moved to receive and record the change in requisite proposals for the Marketing department courses 260-400 and 260-442(642). Tom Colwin seconded the motion, which carried.
The university-wide proposal regarding the addition of a "special course" category 497 Study Abroad was approved on a Phil Johns/Tom Colwin motion.
Phil Johns then moved to receive and record the special courses that had been approved between November 15, 1997 and December 1, 1997, as listed below:

George Ferencz seconded the motion and the motion carried.
Dick Telfer presented a draft document regarding Student University-Level Outcome Expectations to the committee. The document was prepared by an ad hoc committee looking at student outcomes and the quality of the curriculum. The document was discussed briefly and suggestions were forwarded to the ad hoc committee.
At 3:02 p.m., the meeting adjourned on a John Washbush/Tom Colwin motion.
