Minutes of the September 25, 1998 Meeting

PRESENT: Scott Bradley, Tom Colwin, Mark Skidmore (for Stuart Glosser), Janet Thatcher (for Mary Margaret Hosler), Philip Johns, David Remmele, Jim Stewart, Richard Telfer, Meg Waraczynski (for Lance Urven), Michelle Weis, and Ed Zakrzewski
ABSENT: Larry Kenney, George Ferencz, Michael Longrie, Terry Ostermeier, David Rossbach, and Larry Schuetz

Dick Telfer called the meeting to order at 2:22 p.m.
Phil Johns moved to approve the agenda. Tom Colwin seconded the motion and the motion carried.
A revised copy of the April 24th minutes were handed out at the meeting with the correct listing of the members present. Both the April 24, 1998 and the September 11, 1998 minutes were approved on a Phil Johns/Janet Thatcher motion.
Scott Bradley moved and Meg Waraczynski seconded a motion to receive and record the Communicative Disorders Department proposals for a change in number for courses 437-450 to 510-450 and 439-210 to 510-210. The motion carried.
Phil Johns then moved to approve the two proposals from the Political Science Department for new submajors Minor in Legal Studies and Paralegal Certificate. The motion carried.
The new course proposal for the Theatre Department, Production Stage Management, was approved on a Tom Colwin/Meg Waraczynski motion.
Janet Thatcher moved to receive and record the special courses that had been approved between September 9, 1998 and September 18, 1998 as listed below:

Tom Colwin seconded the motion, which also carried.
Dick Telfer handed out Audit and Review Reports for programs reviewed during 1997-98. A summary of the reports will be submitted to UW System on Friday, October 2, 1998. The Committee will officially "Receive and Record" the reports at the regularly scheduled meeting on October 9, 1998. Copies of the reports will be sent with the agenda to those not in attendance September 25, 1998.
