Chris Henige seconded the motion, and the motion carried.
There was a discussion on internship credits. Tony Gulig made a motion to approve the following resolution to define the minimum number of hours of in-class time and out-of-class time required per credit for undergraduate Internships:
A minimum of 3 hours of work per week per unit, based on the definition that regular courses are figured at 800 minutes (16, 50-minute hours) of class time plus 1600 minutes (32, 50-minute hours) of out-of-class work per unit. Work, in this case, can be a combination of the internship employment and class/homework (paper writing, etc.) time.
The number of hours in the above-definition for internship is the same as the number required for hours of in-class and out-of-class time for courses, as defined in the UWW Handbook. Additional information on credits and contact hours can be found at: http://www.uww.edu/acadaff/ucc/handbook.docx
Stuart Glosser seconded the motion and the motion carried unanimously, with the understanding that the resolution would be sent to the Colleges for review, and then brought back to the UCC for final approval before being forwarded to the Faculty Senate.
The meeting adjourned at 2:49 p.m. on a Larry Kenney/Anne Hamilton motion.
Respectfully submitted,
Leslie Meyer
