Minutes of the December 5, 2003 meeting
PRESENT: Dan Edlebeck, George Ferencz, Stuart Glosser, Ann Hamilton, Chris Henige, Linda Holmes, John Howat, Phil Johns, Larry Kenney, Ann Ruff, Larry Schuetz, and Alvaro Taveira.

ABSENT: Katherine Bradley, Scott Bradley, Clint Dederich, Melissa Grosso, Anthony Gulig, Phil Jackson, Barbara Monfils, and Wilfred Tremblay

Larry Schuetz substituted for Barbara Monfils as Chair.  Schuetz called the meeting to order at 2:15 p.m.

The December 5, 2003 agenda was approved on a George Ferencz/Alvaro Taveira motion.

Phil Johns moved and Anne Hamilton seconded the approval of the November 14, 2003 minutes.

Larry Kenney moved with a second by Alvaro Taveira to approve the proposal from the Curriculum & Instruction Department for a new course, CIGENRL 406/606 Art for Exceptional Children.  The motion carried.

John Howat moved to table the new course proposal, COACHING 480/680 Legal Aspects of Sport and Recreation Activities from the Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Coaching Department until a consultation with the lawyers in the Finance & Business Law Department has taken place. Since this new course affects the proposals for a change in submajors for the Coaching Minor for BBA/L & S majors and Recreation Leisure Studies Minor for Education/L & S, Larry Schuetz indicated that these must be tabled also. The motion, seconded by George Ferencz, carried. George Ferencz moved to receive and record the requisite change/course revision/title change for RECREATN 489/689 Recreation Administrationand the requisite change for RECREATN 334/534 Recreation Programming and Leadershipfrom the Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Coaching Department. The motion, seconded by Phil Johns, carried.

For the proposals from the Mathematical & Computer Sciences Department, Phil Johns moved to receive and record the following title changes ? from MATH 458/658 Applied Mathematical Analysis I to MATH 458/658 Applied Mathematical Analysis; from MATH 464/664 Advanced Calculus I to MATH 464/664 Advanced Calculus;, from MATH 471/671 Numerical Analysis Ito MATH 471/671 Numerical AnalysisWith a second by George Ferencz, the motion carried.

Alvaro Taveira moved to approve the following proposals from the Special Education Department: change in submajors ?
