Minutes of the February 18, 2005 meeting


PRESENT:   James Bronson, David Cartwright, Simone DeVore, Dan Edlebeck, George Ferencz, Stuart Glosser, Chris Henige, Phil Johns, Larry Kenney, Jeremy Klingbeil, Barbara Monfils, Larry Schuetz representing Anne Hamilton, Wilfred Tremblay, and Sam Zhao.
ABSENT:   Scott Bradley, Jeremy Frenz, Ann Ruff, Ann Tourbier, and Dave Wilder,


GUESTS:  Bruce Bukowski, Marcia Pulich, Ann Riall and Jon Werner
 

Barbara Monfils called the meeting to order at 2:15p.m.
 

The February 18, 2005  agenda was approved on a David Cartwright/Sam Zhao motion.
 
 
George Ferencz moved and Larry Kenney seconded the approval of the February 4, 2005minutes.  Motion carried.

Chris Henige moved with a second by James Bronson to approve the curriculum proposal from the College of Arts & Communication for a new course, ACINDP 487  Senior Multimedia Project. The motion carried.
 
 

For the curriculum proposals from the Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Coaching Department, Larry Schuetz moved to approve the new course, HEALTHED 440/640 Advanced Stress Managementand toreceive and record the following requisite changes:  PEPROF 212 Fundamentals of Apparatus, PEPROF 240 Theory of Team and Individual Activities, PEPROF 330/530 Techniques of Teaching Movement Activities for the Elementary School, PEPROF 340/540 Team and Individual Sports, PEPROF 380/580 Perceptual Motor Activities for Young Children, PEPROF 400/600 Methods of Teaching Physical EducationThe motion carried.

The proposals from the Management Department for a change in major, Human Resource Management, and a change in submajor, Human Resource Management were approved on a Stuart Glosser/James Bronson motion.

David Cartwright moved to receive and record the curriculum proposals  from the Philosophy and Religous Studies Department for the following requisite changesPHILSPHY 343 American Philosophy, PHILSPHY 345 Contemporary Philosophy, RELIGST 303 Eastern Religious Thought, RELIGST 330  Women and Religion,  and RELIGST 351  Religion in American Culture.  Phil Johns seconded the motion.  The motion carried.

Phil Johns moved with a second by David Cartwright to approve the curriculum proposals from the Psychology Department for change in major for Psychology BSE and Social Studies - Broadfield Psychology I Emphasis BSE.  The motion carried.

The special courses approved between 1/28/05 through 2/11/05 were received and recorded on a David Cartwright/Chris Henige motion.
