Barbara Monfils called the meeting to order at 2:15p.m.

The April 15, 2005  agenda was approved on a Simone DeVore/Anne Hamilton motion.
Wilfred Tremblay moved and James Bronson seconded the approval of the March 18, 2005 minutes.  Motion carried.

Larry Kenney moved with a second by Stuart Glosser to receive and record the following curriculum proposals from the Accounting Department for requisite and description change for ACCOUNT 341 Intermediate Accounting I and ACCOUNT 451 Tax I.  The motion carried.

Stuart Glosser moved with a second by James Bronson to approve the new course, BEINDP 200 Introduction to International Business.  The motion carried.

For the curriculum proposal from the College of Education,  Anne Hamilton moved to approve the change in major  Early Childhood Education with a second by Chris Henige.  Simone DeVore moved to return the proposal to the department for clarification.  Anne Hamilton seconded it.  The motion carried.

The proposal from the Educational Foundations Department for a new course, EDFOUND 230 Introduction to Human Development was approved without the Gen Ed option on a David Cartwright/Chris Henige motion.

Larry Kenney moved to approve the curriculum proposals from the Geography and Geology Department for change in submajor Geography major/Geology Emphasis (BA/BS) and change in minor Environmental Studies Minor and Geology minor;  and to receive and record course revision, description, title, contact hour and/or credit, and requiste change from: GEOLOGY 318 Structural Geology to: GEOLOGY 318 Geologic Structures and Field Methods; title change from: GEOGRAPHY 368 Geography of the Former Soviet Union to: GEOGRAPHY 368 Geography of Russia and the Newly Independent States; description change for GEOLGY 317 Paleontology, GEOLGY 319 Straitigraphy and Sedimentation; and course deletion GEOLGY 206 Planetary Geology and GEOGRPHY 275 Geographic Concepts and Techniques for Teachers.  James Bronson seconded the motion.  The motion carried.

Chris Henige moved with a second by Wilfred Tremblay to approve the curriculum proposals from the Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Coaching Department for a new course PEPROF 493 Health, Human Performance & Recreation Internshipand change in submajor for Physical Education: Health, Human Performance and Recreation and to receive and record number change from: COACHING 340 Coaching of Swimming to: COACHING 354 Coaching of Swimming; requisite changes for COACHING 461/661 Prevention and Care of Athletic Injuries, contact hour and/or credit change HEALTHED 341/551 Yoga and Stress Reduction .  The motion carried.

The curriculum proposal from the History Department for a requisite change for HISTRY 124 American History to 1877was received and recorded on a George Ferencz/Larry Kenney motion.

Larry Kenney moved to receive and record with a second by Sam Zhao the curriculum proposal from the Occupational and Environmental Safety & Health Department for the requisite change for SAFETY 481 Analysis and Design for Safety in Industiral Operations.  The motion carried.

For the curriculum proposals from the Physics Department, Larry Kenney moved to receive and record the course revision, description, title, and number change from: PHYSC 280 Engineering Mechanics: Statics to: PHYSCS 305 Mechanics - Statics; and course deletion for PHYSCS 173 Introductory Physics Laboratory I, PHYSCS 175 Introductory Physics Laboratory II, and PHYSCS 210 Descriptive Physics.  Sam Zhao seconded the motion.  The motion carried.

The curriculum proposal from the Political Science Department for a change in major Public Policy and Administration (BS) was approved on an Anne Hamilton/Larry Kenney motion.

Larry Kenney moved with a second by Stuart Glosser to approve the curriculum proposals from the Sociology, Anthropolgy, and Criminal Justice Department for a new minor - Minor in Forensic Science - Criminal Justice Track, a change in major  Sociology Major (BA/BS)new courses ANTHROPL 220 Tombs, Temples & Buried Treasure:  Introduction to Archaeology, CRIMJUS 329 Investigation of Death, CRIMJUS 425 Advanced Forensic Anthropology: Bioarchaeology, Trauma & Pathology, and SOCIOLGY 337 Sociology of News and Mass Media; and receive and record a course revision & title change from: CRIMJUS 325 Introduction to Forensics to: CRIMJUS 325 Forensics Documentation.  The motion carried.

The special courses approved between 3/10/05 through 4/8/05 were received and recorded on a Larry Kenney/Sam Zhao motion.
