Minutes of the March 3, 2006 meeting

 

PRESENT:  Scott Bradley, Tom Colwin, James Bronson, John Chenoweth, Ellen Davis, Dan Edlebeck, George Ferencz, Michael Longrie for David Cartwright, Barbara Monfils, Lauren Smith, John Zbikowski, and Sam Zhao

ABSENT:   Sara Barbera, Heather Bonnett, Katy Heyning, Larry Schuetz, Wilfred Tremblay, Josh Truss, Becky Wintermute, and Brian Wolfe

Barbara Monfils called the meeting to order at 2:15 p.m.

The March 3, 2006 agenda was approved on a George Ferencz/Tom Colwin motion.

George Ferencz moved and Scott Bradley seconded the approval of the January 20, 2006 minutes.  Motion carried.

Sam Zhao moved with a second by James Bronson to receive and record the curriculum proposal to change the College of Business & Economics Admission Requirements. The motion carried.
 
For the curriculum proposals from the Communication Department, George Ferencz moved with a second by Ellen Davis to receive and record Course Revision & Description Change for JOURNLSM 360 Media Operations and Managementand to approve Change in Submajor for Journalism Advertising Emphasis (BA/BS) and Change in Minor for Advertising Minor.  The motion carried.

George Ferencz moved to approve the curriculum proposal from the Music Department for a New Course MUSC 462 Advanced Music Composition.  Tom Colwin seconded the motion.  The motion carried.

For the curriculum proposals from the Psychology Department, John Zbikowski moved to receive and record the Description Change, Title Change, and Requisite Change from:  PSYCH 446/646 Introduction to Clinical Psychology to: PSYCH 446/646 Introduction to the Scientist-Practitioner Disciplines in Psychology and to approve the New Submajors - Scientist-Practitioner Graduate School Preparation Emphasis and Psychological Sciences Graduate School Preparation Emphasis with a second by Sam Zhao. The motion carried.

Lauren Smith moved to receive and record the curriculum proposal from the Sociology, Anthropology, and Criminal Justice Department for Title Change and Add Cross-listing from:  ANTHROPL 334 Women in Cross-Cultural Perspectiveto:  ANTHROPL/WOMENST 334 Women and Men in Cross-Cultural Perspective.  Scott Bradley seconded the motion.  The motion carried.

The special courses approved between 01/11/06 through 02/24/06 were received and recorded on a Tom Colwin/James Bronson motion.

There was a brief discussion about the possibility of consolidating curriculum forms.
