Minutes of the March 17, 2006 meeting

 

PRESENT:  Scott Bradley, James Bronson, Tom Colwin, John Chenoweth, Ellen Davis, Simone DeVore, Dan Edlebeck, Barbara Monfils, Larry Schuetz for David Cartwright, Lauren Smith, Wilfred Tremblay, and Sam Zhao

ABSENT:   Sara Barbera, Heather Bonnett, George Ferencz, Katy Heyning, Josh Truss, Becky Wintermute, and Brian Wolfe

GUEST:  Bruce Bukowski, and Jessica Cole
 

Barbara Monfils called the meeting to order at 2:15 p.m.

Barbara announced that the next UCC meeting will be on Friday, April 7 at 2:15 p.m. in Hyer 214 instead of on April 14 because of the mini Spring Break.  She mentioned the Associate Vice Chancellor?s Office would send a broadcast e-mail announcing this change.

The March 17, 2006 agenda was approved on a Wilfred Tremblay/Lauren Smith motion.

Tom Colwin moved and Sam Zhao seconded the approval of the March 3, 2006 minutes.  Motion carried.

James Bronson moved with a second by Larry Schuetz to approve the curriculum proposals from the Management Department for Change in Major - Operations Management and Operations Management - Supply Chain Management Emphasis and Deletion of Submajor - Operations Management - Emphasis in Service Operations. The motion carried.

Larry Schuetz moved to approve the curriculum proposals from the Sociology, Anthropology, and Criminal Justice Department for a New Course - ANTHROPL 302 Culture, Medicine and Healthand  Change in Major - Family and Health Studies.  Lauren Smith seconded the motion.  The motion carried.

The special courses approved between 02/24/06 through 03/10/06 were received and recorded on a Larry Schuetz/Sam Zhao motion.

Discussion

The committee was shown how to access the Registrar's curriculum web page and how to use it. 

Drafts of revised curriculum proposal forms were distributed for comments.  More refining will be done on them per recommendations by the committee.

The meeting was adjourned at 2:45 p.m. on a Lauren Smith/Simone DeVore motion.
