Winkler, Math Professor 201
McCutchan Hall, 262 472-5174 Maureen Winkler received her B.S. in Mathematics Education at the University of Illinois (Dean’s List, Award for Outstanding Achievement and Promise, Alumni Medal nominee, Congressional Scholarship) and her Masters in Interdisciplinary Studies and Curriculum Writing at National Louis University (Dean’s List). She taught for 5 years at the middle school level (Math Coach, Stock Market Game State Junior Division Champions) and 5 years at the secondary level (where she began a Foot-bag Club and worked as a contributing author on four published Writer’s Inc. Skillbooks). She is now in her fourth year at UW-Whitewater as a Mathematics Instructor for Academic Support Services, teaching three sections of Math 041 in Carlson Mondays thru Thursdays from 9:00 am – 12:00 noon. Maureen’s dual specialties of writing and mathematics have led her to begin work on a mystery for middle school students with a young female mathematician in the main role as detective. Other interests include reading, travel, and community theatre, where she is partial to comedic roles. She resides in Lake Geneva with her husband, Dan, and daughter, Dana. |
