Multicultural Dance Organizations

UW-Whitewater's multicultural student-run dance groups offer the opportunity to explore a variety of different dance forms and cultures in a fun and friendly environment. Whether you have experience or are just looking to try something new, there are opportunities to dance for everyone.

What? Workshop
When? September 10th -- 8-9PM
Where? The new dance studio, CA114  It will be in the style of contemporary jazz at an intermediate/advanced level and cost $12. She will also spend some time discussing her journey to her professional career and is open to questions.
Callie's Bio:
Originally from Janesville, WI, Callie studied Theater Performance at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.  She was nominated for the prestigious Irene Ryan Award through the American Collegiate Theater Festival for her portrayal of "Tracy Lord" in "The Philadelphia Story" directed by Angela Iannone.  Immediately after school, she began her professional career in dinner theater and never looked back!  In 2009, she was offered the opportunity to get out of the city for a bit dancing aboard Holland America Line's fleet.
While continuing her performance career, Callie also judges on the competition circuit, regionally and nationally, for Starpower Talent and Revolution Talent Competitions.  She mentors young artists from all over the country, as well as teaching acting and dance workshops, in schools, studios and companies.  Educating students is a passion for Callie.  To be able to come full circle and give new, young artists opportunities in the entertainment industry is a true blessing for her.
