Sustaining King/Chavez Scholars
Sustained support for the King/Chavez Scholars will to provide students with scholarships for an infinite period. The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and the UW-Whitewater Foundation are providing 75 scholarships for the 2008-09 academic year. A plan to endow the fund within 5 years is being implemented. The plan calls for:
- Seeking support from King/Chavez alums
- Seeking support from UW-Whitewater alums
- Seeking support from foundations
- Seeking support from corporations
- Hosting King/Chavez annual activities
- Annual King/Chavez Golf Outing
- Annual King/Chavez Reception
King/Chavez Scholars help to make a difference in the quality of life in Wisconsin. Many have elected to remain in the state of Wisconsin after graduation. They are gainfully employed in private, public, and not-for-profit entities.
