ABIGAIL HORVATH - MATH

Hi! My name is Abigail Horvath, but you can call me Abi. I am a freshman here at UW-Whitewater and am majoring in Business Management. I'm from a small town in Fond du Lac County called Brandon. I work as a waitress in Eagle at two bars and at a bar back home. Other than work, I like to hang out with friends, hunt, and fish. In the future, I would like to have my own business, but I don't know what type of business yet.

ALEXA THORTON - MATH

 Hi! My name is Alexa Thornton. I am a Calculus SI this semester. This is my first year being an SI, and I am excited to be helping out! I'm a sophomore at UW Whitewater and am majoring in Secondary Education-Math. My dream job is to be a high school calculus teacher. ALLISON DAWSON - BIOLOGY

Hello, my name is Allison Dawson. I am from Chilton, WI and a junior here at the University of Wisconsin - Whitewater. I'm pursuing a degree in Biology with an emphasis in pre-medical professions. I plan on continuing my education after undergraduate school by attending Medical School to achieve my dream job as a Neuroradiologist. I enjoy watching, playing, and coaching sports in my meantime. ALYSSA ROHLEDER - WRITING

Hi! My name is Alyssa, and I'm an SI in the Intensive English Institute this semester. Here at UW-W, I'm studying Elementary and Bilingual Education because one day I hope to become an ESL teacher. So far, my favorite part of ESL is practicing conversation, and I'm always up for the chance to talk to someone new! AMANDA DANNO - MATH

Hello! My name is Amanda Danno and I live in Lake Geneva, WI. I am currently a math tutor and hope to be a biology and chemistry tutor soon. My major is Biology with a Pre-Medicine emphasis. I am also double minoring in chemistry and music. I play the violin and was a past member of the Whitewater Symphony Orchestra. After attending Whitewater, I am planning on attending to Medical School to get my M.D. and Ph.D. My goal is to become a clinical geneticist to help diagnose and treat genetic disorders. I also plan to conduct genetic research. I currently am an Undergraduate Research student and participate in genetic research on campus. I look forward to assisting you with math and hopefully biology and chemistry in the near future!

 AMANDA DICK - GENED & HISTORY

Hello, my name is Amanda Dick and I’m a fifth-year History and English-Creative Writing double major with a minor in German. I’m from Kenosha, WI, which is on the Illinois boarder right next to Lake Michigan. After I graduate I will, hopefully, be attending graduate school in the UK to earn a masters, then a PhD in Medieval History. As a fifth-year I have taken a lot of History courses and done all sorts of assignments and exams. I’ve learned a lot of tips for studying and writing papers and essays that I can pass on to anyone who needs help. History classes can seem challenging with all they entail, but hopefully I can help you walk away feeling more prepared and confident in your abilities to succeed. Hello! My name is Amanda McCormick. This is my second year here at Whitewater. I have been working in the Math Center for just over a year now, and I still love it. This is my first time being an SI, but I am really excited to be helping people with both Math and Accounting 249 now. I am Finance major with minors in Actuarial Mathematics and Spanish. Hi! My name is Amanda Otzelberger. I am from Mukwonago, WI and a senior at UW-Whitewater, although I still have two years left to complete my degree. Hi! My name is Amber Wolfe, and I am a sophomore here at UW-Whitewater. I am a finance major with an emphasis in financial planning. I am from Wisconsin Rapids and graduated from Nekoosa High School. ANNA FRY - CHEMISTRY

Hey there! My name is Anna Fry and I am from New Berlin, Wisconsin. Right now I am only a freshman, but my plan is to major in chemistry with an emphasis on liberal arts. As of the fall semester, I will have taken chemistry 102 and hope to help answer any questions that come up. I have tutored other students in the past with algebra during high school, so I learned to be patient and open-minded. Hopefully after four years of attending UWW, I can become a chemistry teacher and will spread the love for chemistry onto others. ANDREA RALPH - MATH

Hi, my name is Andrea Ralph, and I am a junior at UW-Whitewater. I am majoring in elementary education with a Spanish minor. After I graduate, I plan on becoming a teacher, preferably in my hometown, Kenosha, Wisconsin. During breaks from school, I work as a cake decorator at a bakery in Kenosha. In my free time, I hang out with my friends, go to the gym, and I love working with children. ANNETTE WEDEL - SPANISH

Hola! My name is Annette and I am Junior from Beaver Dam, Wisconsin with an Elementary Education major and Spanish Minor. I love working and helping people so I feel like this is the perfect opportunity to do so! I spent a couple weeks in Spain 2 summers ago and that is where I feel in love with the Spanish language. I have been studying Spanish for 8 years now and am just a few classes away from completing my minor. In the future, I plan to incorporate the Spanish language into my teaching. Hi! My name is Ariel Fried and I'm in my second year here at UWW with a Junior status. My major is English with an emphasis in literature and my minor is psychology. Ban AhmedMy name is Austin, and I am currently a senior double majoring in Finance and IT. I am from Columbus, Wisconsin, which is located just to the northeast of Madison. I enjoy watching and playing various sports, travel, and entertainment. Bailey LottesHi! My name is Bailey Lottes. I am a senior majoring in English Secondary Education with a minor in Film Studies. I graduated from Monona Grove High School in Monona, WI in 2012 and hope to one day teach there as a high school English teacher.  ¡Hola, bienvenido! My name is Brock Splittgerber and I’m a junior double majoring in Spanish and chemistry. My future career aspirations include attending medical school in pursuit of a career in emergency medicine. However, I also hope to become a certified medical interpreter before my career in medicine, which is where Spanish plays an important role. I’ve studied a number of topics in Spanish—linguistics, literature, history—so I feel that I am well-versed overall. My name is Erik Miller, and I am currently a senior studying Environmental Science and Spanish here at the University of Whitewater. I decided to enroll at UWW due to the classes and opportunities available as well as the location allowing me to remain close to my family. I have many interests and hobbies such as cooking, traveling, nature, art, music, and martial arts. After college I plan on traveling to Peru for a backpacking trip then finding a job allowing me to learn and grow while making a difference for the better. Hrash ParikhI am a second-year finance major at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. I am from Milwaukee, Wisconsin and attended Franklin High School. My primary goal is to graduate college with honors and work as a financial advisor in the future. I enjoy interacting with others and learning more about other cultures. During my first semester, Harsh visited nursing homes and interacted with the elderly. I enjoy skiing and tennis. In the past, I have worked as a Courtesy Associate at WalMart. I have often helped my classmates with their various homework assignments, ranging from editing papers to performing math expressions. My name is Michael Marcheschi, I am a Senior and I'm majoring in History and minoring in Sociology and Philosophy. I am from Wheaton, Illinois which is a suburb of Chicago. Outside of school I enjoy going to concerts and music festivals across the country and I also work as a landscaper when I return home for the summer. I have worked three years as a youth mentor at the YMCA in my hometown, and it was through this experience that I found my passion for educating individuals. My roles as a mentor were to not only lead the children in a positive direction but also to help them read and write. My fondest moment at the YMCA has to be the summer when I taught a group of five year olds how to read. I started the summer by reading to the campers but by the end of the summer my campers we're reading to me. After graduation, I plan to attend law school with hopes of becoming a member of congress and a civil rights attorney in Washington D.C. I am currently involved in several student organizations, including UW- Whitewater Cheer and Stunt Team, Pathways for Success, Black Student Union, 91.7 the Edge radio station, and UWW Cable 19 TV station.

TIMOTHY RICHTER - MATH

I'm from Racine, Wisconsin and I am a Physics major with a minor in Mathematics. After I graduate I plan on getting my teaching license to become a teacher. My goals while at UWW is to help other students who are in need. I once was stumped on many assignments and exams so I know what it is like to struggle and feel frustrated with your classes. Physics majors do a lot of math and most of the degrees require a lot of math courses to even graduate so my mathematics background is heavy, especially with some of the professors at this school. I started at 'rock-bottom' for math here at Whitewater starting with Math 041, so I had the time to actually relearn everything I learned in high school. I am very stubborn with getting things right and work hard to understand how something is solved. If you enjoy persistence and seeking more than just an answer, I'm the right guy.
