All UW-Whitewater students are assigned an academic advisor to assist with course selection and degree plans.
New freshmen (or students with less than 24 credits) are assigned an advisor from within the Academic Advising & Exploration Center (AAEC) after the initial registration period at Plan-It Purple. Check your WINS account for your advisor assignment. If your major is art, music, theatre or Media Arts & Game Design, you will be assigned an advisor from your academic department.
Students with over 24 credits are advised by a faculty member within their major department but are also welcome to utilize the AAEC for additional support.
Lastly, we recognize that military and/or student veterans often have needs that are unique from other members of our student body. To address those needs, UW-Whitewater strives to employ a graduate student veteran staff advisor in the Veteran's and Military Members Lounge in Andersen Library. He or she is prior service and sensitive to and familiar with military backgrounds and experiences.
