Degree Requirements
Bachelor of Arts (BA) vs. Bachelor of Science (BS)
B.A. Requirements
- Two units of Art (GA) outside major department
(Not including GENED 110 World of the Arts)
-AND- - Six units of Humanities (GH) from two separate disciplines
(Not including course used to fulfill GENED 120 US Experience in World Context/GENED 140 Global Perspectives requirement nor GENED 390 World of Ideas)
B.S. Requirements
- Six units of Natural Sciences/Mathematics (GL/ GM)
(Not including courses used to fulfill Quantitative and Technical Reasoning requirement)
College of Business & Economics
Admission Requirements
- 54 or more projected units (developmental units are not counted in this total)
- Have completed or registered for:
- College Unique Requirements: Math 143, Econ 201 and Econ 202
- College Lower Division Requirements: Econ 245, Account 244 and Account 249/ 341/342 (a 2.5 combined GPA & 24 projected units (excluding developmental units) required to take Lower Division courses)
Exceptions:- The International Course Requirement may be fulfilled later in students major.
- The Community Service Requirement is a graduation requirement.
- Have earned a combined (transfer and UW-Whitewater) GPA of at least 2.8 (Exceptions: students who do not meet 2.8 requirement may be admitted based on an 8-point formula)
- Completion of the Computer Application Test (SAM) or have finished or registered for COMPSCI 162.
College of Education
Admission to Professional Education
- Attend a Phase 1 Meeting: College of Education Program Requirements
- Pass all three parts (Math, Writing, Reading) of the PRAXIS I
- Attend a Phase 2 Meeting: Professional Education Orientation
- Pass each course of the Pre-Professional Block with a grade of C/S or better (not required for Dual Licensure major)
- Complete the Phase 2 portfolio evaluation
- Pass Speech 110 with a grade of C\S or better
- Completion of a minimum of 40 units (Dual licensure major must compete only 30 units) (developmental units are not counted in this total)
- Have earned a combined (transfer and UW-Whitewater) minimum GPA of 2.75
(Note: Competitive programs may need a higher GPA.) - Minimum 350 hours of Experience with Learners (300 Documented; 50 Undocumented)
Only up to 10% of students may be admitted by exception if they have not passed all three parts of the PRAXIS I or do not have the 2.75 GPA

Select from Arts, Communications, Humanities, Social Science, Ethnic/Women/Interdisciplinary studies excluding courses in major or minor disciplines.
300/400 level courses must be personalized on the AR. See Deb Heiber in Salisbury 130 for personalization.
-AND- - One year of same foreign language
-OR- - Completion of same foreign language 142 or above
-OR- - Two years of same high school foreign language (D or better)
High school foreign language course completion must be personalized on the AR. See Deb Heiber in Salisbury 130 for waiver.
B.S. Requirements
- A second 4-5 unit lab science course (designated GL)
(Not including lab science course used to fulfill University Requirement. This lab science must also be from a different discipline than the lab science used for the University Requirement)
-AND- - 5 units of Math beyond 141
-OR- - 3 units of Computer Science and 3 units of Math beyond 141
