Welcome to the UW-Whitewater Family! My name is Kristine Yesbeck and I have been an Academic Advisor in the Academic Advising & Exploration Center since it opened in November of 2002. Over the last five years, I have had the pleasure of working with an interesting and diverse group of Warhawk students. I find it very rewarding to help students as they transition to college life and develop their academic and career plans.

I have a Bachelors of Arts in both International Studies and Spanish from St. Norbert College. My Masters of Arts is from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in Communication with an emphasis in Intercultural Communication. I am also certified as a Global Career Development Facilitator (GCDF).

Traveling and studying abroad have been a big part of my life and I encourage you to give it a try! I was an AFS summer exchange student in Santa Cruz, Costa Rica and I studied a college semester in Quito, Ecuador. I also taught ESL in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I have traveled throughout Central and South America. My husband even proposed to me in Ireland!

Outside of the AAEC, my spare time is dedicated to my husband and two sons (a four-year-old and a newborn). We also have two large "pound puppies" at home. Through my husband, I have become a fan of the Chicago Cubs but I still secretly root for the Milwaukee Brewers. I also enjoy gardening, cooking, reading, and listening to music.
