Student Optimists travel to Belize to lend helping hands
Thirteen students and two staff members from the UW-Whitewater Student Optimist Club began the new year helping out a small village in Belize, the northernmost country in Central America. They built a shelter, painted local buildings, donated important supplies and learned the value of stepping outside their comfort zones.
