Ways to Give

There are many ways to give to UW-Whitewater.

Cash

This is the most common way to give. Gifts of cash are fully deductible for federal income tax purposes, provided you itemize your deductions.

Online Giving

The UW-Whitewater Foundation accepts donations online. It is quick, easy, and perfectly safe. You can even designate your gift to a specific campaign, college, or fund, and even pay a previous pledge online. The UW-Whitewater Foundation online giving program accepts Mastercard and Visa.

Electronic Funds Transfer

Also known as Automated Clearing House (ACH) Debits, the Foundation now offer the convenience of making donations through pre-authorized withdrawal(s) from your bank account.  With your authorization, we will automatically debit your checking acount on the 15th of the month(s) in the amount you designate.
Click here for more information, and to be directed to the ACH Debits application form.

Gifts-In-Kind

In-Kind gift are donations of physical assets other than cash and marketable securities. Examples of these donations are real estate, art, books, collections, and furnishings. If you would like to give a gift-in-kind, please view and fill out the donation form.

Gifts of Securities

Gifts of Securities can often provide a donor with additional tax benefits. When you donate long-term appreciated securities to the UW-Whitewater Foundation, you will not incur any capital-gain tax on the securities' appreciation in value. Plus, you can take a charitable income tax deduction of the securities' full fair market value at the time of your gift.

Pledges

Pledges enable a donor to arrange a personal giving program that is convenient and flexible. Because payment schedules are set up by the donor, the donor has the ability to control how much, and when they will pay each portion of their pledge. To make it even more convenient, pledge payments can be made online as well.

Heritage Society - Planned Giving

The Heritage Society is a fellowship of UW-Whitewater alumni and friends who have made plans for an estate gift. These gifts not only provide a lasting legacy for the university, but are also an important way to help the UW-Whitewater Foundation build a strong endowment for the future.

Planned gifts can be beneficial to the giver as a means to reduce estate, gift, and/or current income taxes, in addition to serving as an opportunity to satisfy other financial goals. A planned gift can also serve as a means for honoring a friend of the university through naming.

A charitable gift should be carefully planned according to your personal needs and goals, and with consideration of your assets and charitable interests. If you are considering establishing a planned gift to benefit UW-Whitewater, a member of the Foundation's staff or a college director of advancement would be glad to assist you.

Download a letter of intent which can be printed and mailed to the address below.

Other forms available for your reference are a generic estate agreement and a generic scholarship agreement.
