Kris Fantetti was 40 years old and a single mother of two, when she decided to further her education. She enrolled at Gateway Technical College to earn an associate degree. Her academic journey led to an internship at UW-Whitewater, and eventually, university employment.
"I absolutely fell in love with working here," she said.
Today, one of her responsibilities in the UW-Whitewater Foundation Office is ensuring alumni records are up-to-date and accurate. She processes pledges and donations that come into the Foundation daily. "I supervise our student employees and especially enjoy getting to know them, and see how they change and mature into confident people while at UW-Whitewater," she said.
When not at work, she enjoys travelling, gardening and spending time with her family. Her favorite thing to do is any activity that involves her two grandchildren.
Fantetti feels her work supporting UW-Whitewater ultimately benefits society. "Furthering your education beyond high school makes the world a better place, and I am thankful to have a job where we all work towards that goal," she said.
