The daughter of a college professor, Tamara Hauck spent the first phase of her career in marketing, a background she said is useful in her development mission on campus. “Providing alumni with the opportunity to direct their interests, involvement and support of UW-Whitewater to a part of the school that fits with their memories and interests, is what it’s all about.” Hauck said. “What I do here is very personal and very one-on-one. It’s about getting to know alumni and trying to find a good match between what alumni love and care about here at UW-Whitewater and what the campus needs their support for.”
Hauck has devoted herself to organizations supporting education and the arts and has worked for organizations like Miller Brewing, American Girl and Milwaukee Repertory Theater. Hauck said she is continually amazed by the tremendous opportunities UW-Whitewater students receive. “There is such a student-centered mindset among our faculty,” Hauck said. “They are academic leaders with tremendous accomplishments, publications and research who truly care about the students. It’s really impressive.”
Hauck is married and has two sons, aged 20 and 26 and lives in Oconomowoc, a place she’s called home for nearly 30 years. Her favorite seasons are summer and winter –when she enjoys water skiing and downhill skiing with her family.
