Volunteer Opportunities

UW-Whitewater Alumni are a great asset to the learning environment on campus. Below is a list of volunteer opportunities for alumni. No matter what your experience level, there is an opportunity for you to make a difference in the lives of our students.     • UW-Whitewater professors are looking for class guest speakers to demonstrate real world application to students in the classroom setting.
    • Department Advisory Boards work to advise, assist and advocate in the advancement of that specific department as well as help in the development of curriculum.
    • Alumni and friends of UW-Whitewater have had great success in hosting alumni socials, receptions and networking events at their home and/or place of business. The alumni association is excited to work with you to host another exciting event.
  • Sponsor Alumni Event
    • The UW-Whitewater National Alumni Association is always on the lookout for new sponsors.
    • Homecoming is a busy time for the UW-Whitewater National Alumni Association. Volunteer opportunities include being a greeter, helping with setup of events, selling tickets to the pregame tailgate, and assisting at the 50 year reunion.
    • Help alumni and friends feel welcome at an upcoming alumni event by being a greeter!
    • The voices of UW-Whitewater alumni play an important role in the media and to local and state government. Make a difference by being an alumni advocate of UW-Whitewater. When we need your help, we inform you of opportunities to reach out to media or to call, email, or write your local and state representatives regarding important issues that impact UW-Whitewater.
    • Be a volunteer at the upcoming Alumni Golf Classic on July 25, 2011 at the Geneva National Golf Club. Opportunities include greeting, setup, handing out nametags, and more!
    • Every year, the UW-W Alumni Association constructs a committee of classmates to help with the planning of their 50 year reunion. Would you like to be on your 50 year reunion committee? Now is your chance!
    • Career & Leadership Development sponsors a number of educational events throughout the year to help students reflect upon and develop their leadership potential, and to foster successful transition from college to career. The knowledge and perspective of alumni gained through personal experience is invaluable to students about to begin their professional journeys. With this in mind, staff members in Career & Leadership Development are seeking alumni who are interested in sharing their expertise and perspective with students in the area of leadership, personal and professional development, and career success.
  • Student Internship Provider
    • Do you work for a business that would be willing to acquire a UW-Whitewater student intern? UW-Whitewater would love to help make this possibility a reality.
  • Student Organization Speaker
    • Student Organizations are very interested in having alumni return to campus to share their wealth of knowledge. Select this volunteer opportunity if you are interested in sharing your knowledge with a specific student organization. See the list of student organizations.

  • Science Colloquium Speaker
    • Each science department conducts a colloquium to discuss careers, research and new developments in their specific area of study. Alumni are welcome to join to share their new ideas and experiences.
  • Visual and Performance Guest Artist
    • UW-Whitewater invites guests artists to come perform or display their artwork at UW-Whitewater. Please let us know if you are interested in this opportunity.

  • COBE Advisory Board
    • The Business Advisory Board serves as a link between the College of Business & Economics and the business community, offering counsel, cooperation and communication to enhance the continued progress of the College. The role of the Board is twofold: First, members provide advice, opinions and ideas regarding a variety of issues, including programs, recruitment and placement, and the general environment affecting management education. Second, the Board helps to improve the visibility and enhance the reputation of the College of Business and Economics in the business community.
