Are You Ready?

The Mission: To bring together current students and alumni through informative friendships. To offer students a link between academic study and the realities of the professional workplace as well as access to valuable advice and professional networks.

Alumni, are you ready to:

Make a real difference in a UW-Whitewater student's life?
Open networking and recruiting doors?
Strengthen your ties to the University?
Gain a fresh perspective and new experiences as a coach, tutor, advisor, and supporter?

Recommendations for Mentors:

Correspond with protégés via email and phone.
Meet each semester (if possible).
Allow job shadow opportunities.
Attend Annual Mentor Reception.

Guidelines for Protégés:

Make a list of goals and share concrete ideas for how to accomplish them with your mentor.
Write or call your mentor immediately upon receiving contact information.
Always be courteous and professional in communication and dress.
View mentors as source of knowledge, not as a job resource.
Attend Annual Mentor Reception.
Thank your mentor for volunteering with a handwritten note at the end of the year and upon graduation.

I feel a connection to my alma mater, and it's good to know I'm helping a student find a rewarding career.
