IRAs
“The Pension Protection Act of 2006 provides that for 2006 and 2007 an individual aged 70 & ½ or older with traditional or Roth IRAs can make tax free gifts directly to charitable organizations such as the UW-Whitewater Foundation. You may choose to make charitable distributions in any amount up to $100,000 per year. These IRA deductions will not have to be reported as taxable income on your federal income tax return.”
