UW-WhitewaterAlumni

Christina Henige

Administrative Assistant

Christina Henige enjoys building rapport with alumni who come to campus to enjoy events at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.

From her former role as assistant box office manager to her current position helping alumni reconnect with their university, she appreciates the enthusiasm of campus visitors.

“I’ve seen the excitement, how people are happy to be here,” she said. “I understand how important these events are to alumni because I know how education can change lives.”

A native of Pittsburgh, Henige was the first in her family to graduate from college, a bond she shares with today’s first-generation students at UW-Whitewater.

She earned her bachelor’s degree in art history from UW-Madison, where she met her husband, Chris Henige, an associate professor of art history in the College of Arts and Communication at UW-Whitewater.

They live on eight acres of wooded property in Delavan, where they’re tackling home renovations and planning a pond. She’s an animal lover who dotes on two cats and a lovebird and greets friendly Jersey cows next door.

In the office of University Alumni Relations and Development, she tackles the details that make special events memorable for campus guests. She helps support opportunities for returning Warhawks to engage with UW-Whitewater by speaking to classes, mentoring a student, serving on advisory boards or joining the fun at celebrations.

“I love helping people,” Henige said. “I want them to have a good experience when they come to campus.”
