October 30, 2009:  The Non-Instructional  Academic Staff Rewards and Recognition Program has announced the Spring 2010 deadlines for nominations/applications.  Nominations must be submitted to the office of the Assembly Chair, Denise Ehlen (2237 Andersen Library) or via email to ehlend@uww.edu by 4:30 pm on February 13, 2010; March 13, 2010; or April 13, 2010. September 29, 2009:  The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater will launch the Campus Climate Survey on Thursday October 1, 2009.  All academic staff are encouraged to participate.  See http://www.uww.edu/acadaff/campusclimate/ for additional information. 

August 24, 2009:  The University of Wisconsin System has posted information regarding collective bargaining legislation at http://www.uwsa.edu/hr/barglegis.html.  The following flowchart and summary information files further outline the collective bargaining process.  The Academic Staff Assembly will host a seminar in Fall 2009 providing additional information regarding the legislation.  Monitor the Assembly Web for updates or contact an Assembly representative for more information.

July 31, 2009:  As a result of enabling legislation included in the 2009-2011 Budget Bill, UW academic staff now have the right to organize and join a labor organization (union) of their own choosing.  Alan N. Crist, Associate Vice President for Human Resources and Workforce Diversity at System, forwarded a memorandum summarizing the legislation and providing details on how to access the System "FAQ" page. 

March 16, 2009:  The 2009 Notice of Election and Application/Nomination Form is now available.  Applications/nominations must be submitted to Bridget Cohen, Governance Associate, 2237 Andersen Library, cohenb@uww.edu, by 3:00 pm on Monday 30 March 2009.

January 26, 2009:  New deadlines have been posted/released for the Non-Instructional Rewards and Recognition Program.  Applications/nominations may be submitted the 13th of each month from February to May, 2009.  Refer to the Non-Instructional Rewards and Recognition Program Web for additional information.
