The 2009 UW System Academic Staff Leadership Conference features Keynote Speaker, Roger Seip and Plenary Speaker, Christine Clements.

ROGER SEIP, KEYNOTE SPEAKER

Roger Seip, Vice President of Product Development for Freedom Personal Development will deliver the Conference's Keynote from 10:30 am to 12:00 noon on Thursday 23 July 2009.  An overview of Roger's presentation is included in the Conference Agenda.

When it comes to breaking records, Roger Seip walks the talk.  Freedom Personal Development has consistently grown and broken records for ten straight years. 

Roger has personally delivered professional programs to more than 1,500 companies and has been a featured speaker for organizations such as the National Association of Realtors, Harley-Davidson, and Northwestern Mutual.  Drawing on his eight years as a stand-up comic, Roger brings a humorous energy to every presentation, so much so that participants have been known to laugh themselves right off their chairs. 

Roger's programs education and entertain, while repeatedly proving to make lasting improvements in his clients' personal and professional lives.  After experiencing him once, you will understand why thousands of business professionals have turned to Roger to guide them to a new level of personal greatness! 

When he's not in front of an audience or building his company, Roger enjoys being a husband of one, daddy of two, and catching humongous fish.

christine clements, plenary SPEAKER

Christine Clements, Interim Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, University of Wisconsin-Whitewater will deliver the Conference's Plenary from 8:00 to 9:00 am on Friday 24 July 2009.  An overview of Christine's presentation is included in the Conference Agenda.

Christine Clements is currently the Interim Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.  She served as the Dean of the College of Business and economics from July 2002 until August 2008.  Prior to that, she served as the interim dean for one year, chair of the management department for six years, and spent one year as Fellow in the Provost's Office.  She has been a member of the faculty at Whitewater since 1990.  Before coming to the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, she was on the faculty at North Dakota State University for four years.

Chris has a Ph.D. in Management from the University of Arkansas, an MBA from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, and a B.A. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in Political Science and Scandinavian Studies.  Before becoming dean, she taught graduate and undergraduate courses in Organizational Behavior, leadership, and Organization Theory and Effectiveness.  She has presented and published research primarily in the areas of Leadership, Gender Issues in the Workplace, and Organization Theory and Design, and has been involved in the development of corporate training programs in team building and conflict management.

Chris is married to Will Drago, who is Professor of Strategic Management at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, and has three children.  Her son just completed his service in the Army and is making plans to attend college.  Chris has two teenage daughters, one of whom is a hockey player.  They help her maintain her sense of balance, as well as her sense of humor.
