Getting Admitted

The Application for Admission

We look forward to having you apply for admission to the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater.  To submit an application for admission, please visit the online application at www.apply.wisconsin.edu. For general questions about admission to the university, navigate to www.uww.edu/admissions and use the “ASK AWAY” feature to get an immediate response to your question.

“NEW Freshman” Admission Eligibility Criteria

UW-Whitewater completes a comprehensive application review for all students. A student's prior academic preparation is the most important factor used in the decision, but a review of standardized exam scores, high school GPA, history of academic rigor, student activities and/or volunteerism, the personal statement on the application, letters of recommendation and anything else a student provides as part of the application submitted is seriously considered.  It is our goal to discover whether or not we believe the student can be successful in the collegiate environment.  Our process affords the admissions office the opportunity to learn as much as they can about a person before making a decision.  We encourage students to tell us as much about themselves as possible

“Transfer”Admission Eligibility Criteria

UW-Whitewater requires a minimum 2.0 (4.0 system) cumulative grade point average (GPA) based on at least 12 transferable credits for transfer student admission. Requirements may be higher if you are planning to enroll in certain academic programs (notably the College of Business and Economics and the College of Education) or during periods of enrollment limitation. Students who are enrolled in their first semester or who will not complete 12 transferable credits will be evaluated using new freshman admission criteria.
