Qualifications: Earned master's degree. Tenure-track appointment considered for candidates with earned doctorate or ABD. Music educator and choral conductor with a strong commitment to undergraduate music education; record of successful teaching at the undergraduate level and in the public schools; dynamic choral conductor with appropriate keyboard skills; knowledge of vocal pedagogy; jazz vocal and studio teaching experience particularly desirable; strong commitment to recruiting and to meeting the educational needs of an increasingly diverse student population.

Duties: Teach choral methods and music methods for elementary classroom teachers; other Music Education coursework according to qualifications of the successful candidate; supervision of student teachers; class voice; direct choral ensembles, with possible duties to include women's or men's choruses and an ensemble that might be focused on vocal jazz or other styles according to the qualifications of the successful candidate; participate in departmental activities, and recruiting.

Instructional Academic Staff Lecturer in Dance

The Theatre/Dance Department at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater announces a 50%-time, Instructional Academic Staff Position in Dance beginning the fall of 2011. (Additional load possible by teaching a General Education Arts Survey course for the College.) Rotating responsibilities include teaching undergraduate dance courses (Contemporary, Ballet, Composition, Improvisation and/or Dance Appreciation) and directing the annual department dance concert. Successful candidate will have the opportunity to choreograph for the annual concert. Abilities to work in the areas of Jazz, Tap and Choreography for Musical Theatre would be beneficial.

Position Available: Fall 2011

Qualifications: MFA in Dance preferred; Strong evidence of successful university teaching; Strong evidence of successful choreography.

Rank: 50%-time instructional academic staff for academic year. (Additional load possible by teaching a General Education Arts Survey course for the College.)

Department: The UWW Theatre/Dance Department has a staff of 10 faculty/academic staff members, serving around 80 theatre majors (BA, BFA, BSE) and 40 dance minors. Six productions are mounted each year, including one touring children's play and one dance concert. Dance students are trained in the technical areas of ballet and contemporary dance, with three levels of each. Creative courses include Improvisation and two levels of Composition. The annual March dance concert consists of work created by guest artists, faculty, and students. The department participates in the American College Dance Festival Association (ACDFA) Conference each year; nine pieces have been selected for performance in ACDFA Gala Concerts in the past ten years. Tenure-Track position in Advertising

Position: The Department of Communication at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater is seeking candidates for a tenure-track position in Advertising which will begin Fall, 2011. The ideal candidate will have the academic preparation and preferably the professional industry experience to teach courses such as Foundations of Advertising, Advertising Copywriting and Layout, Advertising Campaigns, Advertising Media Planning and Buying, or Advertising and New Technologies. Ability to teach or develop other courses in areas of mass communication, media writing, intercultural communication, or graduate seminars, a plus. The ideal candidate will share leadership in an expanding emphasis in Advertising and will have opportunities to work with students on applied communication projects and master's theses. Participation in related academic and professional organizations and willingness to work with student organizations preferred. Our department expects research/creative activity to complement its primary teaching mission, and evidence of quantitative or qualitative scholarly activity is required for tenure. Service to the department, university and community as well as participation in related academic and professional organizations is expected from all faculty/staff.

Qualifications: Ph.D. in Advertising or related field is required for tenure- track appointment. ABDs will also be considered for a non-tenure-track appointment that will convert to tenure-track upon successful completion of terminal degree.
