Endowed Scholarship and Fund
Dahle Family Memorial Scholarship
The Dahle Memorial Scholarship supports a student of at least junior status who has declared a major in Art, Music, or Theatre/Dance.
The Greenhill Excellence in the Arts Award
Endowed by former chancellor H. Gaylon Greenhill and his wife, Hannah Greenhill, this program supports highly talented incoming freshman planning to major in the fine arts in each of their four years.
Raymond E and Zenobia R Light Memorial Scholarship Fund
This fund supports outstanding students of junior status in Art, Music and Theatre/Dance.
The Gladys Borchers Fund
The purpose of this fund is to enrich the intellectual life of students and faculty by bringing in speakers in the areas of communication and theatre that will contribute to their learning, teaching and research.
The Merchild Fountain Maintenance Fund
Created by Martha van Steenderen, this fund supports the maintenance of the Merchild Fountain in the van Steenderen Family Atrium.
Helen Bradley Visiting Artist Fund
Provided by the bequest of Helen Bradley, this endowment supports visiting artists and speakers in the arts disciplines.
James R. and Zoe E. Connor College of Arts & Communication Scholarship
Established by Chancellor Emeritus and Mrs. Connor, this fund recognizes excellence in each of the College's departments. Scholarships will rotate among the college's Art, Communication, Music, and Theatre/Dance departments; in addition to their academic profile, eligible students will be judged on their campus involvement and community service.
College of Arts & Communication Endowment
This fund, when fully endowed, will support college special projects including equipment and facility needs.

Mary Weiser Art Scholarship
Awarded for outstanding work in studio art, this scholarship was established in memory of Mary Weiser, a former Art Department Secretary.
Roberta Avonn Fiskum Memorial Scholarship
Established by Robert and Yvonne Fiskum in memory of their daughter, Roberta, a former art major in the graphic design program, this scholarship is given for outstanding achievement in the areas of graphic design and studio work.
Henry and Violet DeWind Scholarship
Established by Henry and Violet DeWind, this scholarship is awarded to an incoming freshman majoring in an Art program.
Amy E. Arntson Scholarship
Created by Professor Emeritus Amy E. Arntson and friends, this scholarship is intended to encourage and support students that combine a commitment to graphic design with a strong interest in more traditional fine arts.
Edna Grinstead Scholarship
Established through the planned gift of emeriti Edna P. Grinstead, this scholarship is for students with a declared art major; it is intended to support and encourage students with both artistic talent and a commitment to successful academic performance.
Blumberg Scholarship
Supported by professor Emeritus Beth Blumberg, this scholarship supports current freshmen with a declared art major. It is intended to encourage students at the beginning of their career to have their work reviewed competitively, and reward excellence.
Flanagan Art Award
This scholarship is awarded to a student who has excelled in the book arts and that would include things as diverse as typographic design, sculptural book forms or boxes.

This fund supports special projects in the Art Department.
Excellence in Ceramics
This scholarship is awarded to a student majoring in art for outstanding work in ceramics.
Art Department Scholarship
Offered by the Art Department, this scholarship is awarded to talented and academically gifted students in the department.

This scholarship is given to students majoring in one of the Communication Department emphases who have demonstrated high academic achievement.
John Cease Memorial Fund
This award is given in fond memory of John Cease, an alumni and emeritus with long-standing ties to the College. Recipients are juniors with a Speech Communication major that show a solid work ethic and future promise in their field
Lowell Award for Excellence in Organizational Communication
This award, established by alumnus Bill Lowell and his wife Jan, encourages highly qualified students in the Organizational Communication Program.
UW-W Forensics Team New Member Scholarship
This scholarship is to aid individuals who wish to join the UWW Forensics Team, in their first season. The recipient will represent a dedication to and love of Forensics.
Fassl Forensics Leadership Scholarship
This award is for members of the UWW Forensics Team taking on leadership roles in the program and guiding their peers during their tenure as a UWW Forensics Team member.
Royal Purple Scholarship
When endowed, this scholarship will be for a junior or senior who has been a member of Royal Purple journalism staff for at least one full year.
WSUW/Cable 19 Equipment Fund
This fund provides support for essential upgrades to the Radio/TV studios, to enhance student learning.

The Dennis Rohrs Band Scholarship Endowment
Created by Dennis and Margaret Rohrs, this scholarship supports outstanding student instrumentalists in the Music Department.
Ossian Mills Endowed Memorial Scholarship
Awarded annually to students majoring in Music, students in the Whitewater Xi Pi chapter of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia established this scholarship in 2003 by raising funds through special events and through a campaign to secure gifts from alumni and friends of the chapter.
Robert K. Webb Family Scholarship
Created by Professor Emeritus Robert Webb, this scholarship supports outstanding student instrumentalists in the Music Department.
Grace A. Prugger Music Scholarship Endowment
Provided through the bequest of Grace Prugger, this endowment provides scholarships for highly gifted music students.
Franklin Bushman Scholarship
Created in memory of the late Professor Emeritus Franklin Bushman by family and friends, this scholarship supports talented students in the Music Department.

Created in memory of a distinguished area music teacher Roxa Pritchett by family and friends, this scholarship supports exceptional students in the Music Department.
James and Leita Feay Memorial Scholarship
Established Dr, Sheila Feay-Shaw and her husband, Steven Shaw, in memory of Sheila’s parents, James and Leita Feay. This scholarship is intended to support and encourage excellence in music education and will be awarded to the Music Department’s nominee for the Wisconsin Music Educators Association (WMEA) Gaarder award each year.
McMonagle Studio Scholarship
Created in honor of Carlene McMonagle, this scholarship supports outstanding voice students in the Music Department.
Roger Coppenbarger Woodwind Scholarship
Created by Larry Osterberg in honor of Professor Emeritus Roger Coppenbarger, this scholarship supports excellent woodwind instrumentalists in the Music Department.
Gieryn Jazz Talent Scholarship
This scholarship supports talented students in the jazz program of the Music Department.

The Bramblett Series
This fund supports the Jerry Bramblett Memorial Chamber Series, which brings exceptional chamber music to Young Auditorium and the Light Recital Hall. Named in memory of the late pianist and Professor of Music, Jerry Bramblett.

This scholarship granted to a student majoring in the Theatre/Dance Design program who displays outstanding promise in any area of theatre design.
Wynett Barnett Scholarship Endowment for Theatre Students
Created in memory of Wynett Barnett, these scholarships support Theatre/Dance students showing outstanding ability in performance, technical ability, costuming, and dance.
Gene and Anne Wilson Endowed Theatre Scholarship
This scholarship provides support to students with strong potential for a successful career in theater, who have demonstrated substantive work in all aspects of theatre department production.
Fannie Hicklin Scholarship Endowment for Theatre Education
This scholarship is awarded annually to junior/senior theatre education students that are well rounded in all areas of theatre, including performance and technical work.
Margo & Scott Trentadue Theatre Scholarship
This award presented to a theatre major based on excellent academic and outstanding performance and/or service in their activities.
Fred Sederholm Writing Award
The award is available to any student registered for a theatre course for credit during the academic year. Any types of revised or finished writing which represents a student’s best critical and/or creative writing skill will be considered. Examples might include research papers, essays, expository writing, criticism or original creative writing including play-writing.
Theatre/Dance Technical Scholarship
The award will be given to a continuing freshman, sophomore or junior who displays outstanding undergraduate-level work in the technical areas of sets, props, costumes, lighting or sound for department and/or production work while attending UW-Whitewater.
Carolyn and John Bodensteiner Scholarship
This $200.00 award will be given to a sophomore theatre major who has demonstrated outstanding theatrical potential and a commitment to academic excellence with a 3.0 grade point average or above.
Richard Elkow Award
This scholarship is awarded to incoming freshman majoring in theatre with a technical emphasis.
Ken Lempert Directing Award
This scholarship is granted to student who have directed or assistant directed at least one theatre production and show creativity in his/her directing work.
Fero Management Award
This award is given to theatre major/minors involved in the theatre management and stage management programs.
McNally Stage Management Award
This award is given to a student who has successfully stage-managed or assistant stage-managed a main-stage theatre/dance department production within the past 12 months.
Matthew Schliesman Scholarship for Artistic Accomplishment
This scholarship is presented to students who have on-going significant and valued artistic accomplishments in the areas of performance, directing, technical and design, or theatre management.

Offered by the Theatre/Dance Department, this scholarship is awarded to talented and academically gifted students in the department.

Young Auditorium, this program provides annual scholarship support for students active in the Auditorium program to attend national conferences relating to the work of the Cultural Affairs committee.
Irvin L Young Auditorium Endowment
Provided through gifts from the Young family and by gifts in memory of the late Irvin L. Young, the endowment supports the programs of Irvin L. Young Auditorium.
Fern Young Horizons Endowment
Provided through gift from and in honor of the late Fern Young, this endowment supports the Horizons Children’s program in Young Auditorium.
Dorothy Remp Elmer Children’s Arts Outreach
Provided through the bequest of the Professor Emeritus Dorothy Remp Elmer, this program supports annually an arts outreach program in conjunction with a performance on the Horizons program for younger children.
