Mary Dahle Armstrong
& Warren Armstrong
In 2007, Mary Dahle Armstrong and Warren Armstrong presented a generous gift to the Dahle Family Memorial Scholarship. Mary and Warren’s desire was to make a significant impact on students while increasing the size of the endowed fund.
Established by Jon Dahle, this memorial scholarship was created to honor the family’s relationship to the university. His mother, Ann Dahle joined University of Wisconsin -Whitewater in 1927 working in the registrar’s office. Through her 29-year career, she affected the lives of countless students, especially as the director of student admissions. Jon Dahle graduated from UW-Whitewater in 1938 and was voted Most Popular Man on campus that same year. He was involved in football, basketball and track, and as an alumnus was actively involved with the university.
Mary Dahle Armstrong also graduated from UW-Whitewater, in 1942, with a bachelor’s degree in education. Mary earned her master’s degree at the University of Wisconsin - Madison, where she met Warren on the steps of the Memorial Union.
The Dahle Family Memorial Scholarship provides opportunities to students of junior or senior status who have a declared major in art, music or theatre/dance and have demonstrated significant artistic talent.
