Jerry Bramblett
(1938-1994)
Jerry Earl Bramblett became a member of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Music Department faculty in 1973. Dr. Bramblett proved to be a vital force in the Music Department, not only through his performances, but also in the musical excellence he expected from his students and from the department in general.
As a solo pianist and chamber music collaborator, he presented over 300 recitals on campus, and throughout the United States. Dr. Bramblett was rewarded as a dedicated and respected teacher when he earned the prestigious W.P. Roseman Excellence in Teaching Award. Under his direction, the UW-Whitewater Summer Piano Camp grew in number as well as reputation, and attracted talented high school pianists from around the world.
Dr. Bramblett donated generously to academic scholarship funds and established the LaGrange Society in order to continue scholarship awards after his death. The Society provides scholarships annually to the music department.
