Darkroom photography investigates the black and white silver gelatin process with camera and camera less exposures, to negative and then to final print. Emphasis is placed on photographic interpretation of the three dimensional world of light and shadow and its unique expressive qualities on a two dimensional light sensitive surface.  Students are encouraged to investigate and experiment with the process focusing on objective and subjective viewpoints.

The goal of photography is to introduce students to traditional and experimental methods of photographic image making with an emphasis on technique, history and the aesthetics of the Camera
, the Negative
 and the Print.
