Degree Programs

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Department of Music offers two undergraduate degrees in music:

• The Bachelor of Music degree is a professional degree intended for those preparing to teach, perform, or pursue advanced study in music at the graduate level. Students in the B.M. select one of five different areas of emphasis (Choral Music Education, General Music Education, Instrumental Music Education, Performance, History/Theory), according to their specific career goals.
  
  
• The Bachelor of Arts in Music degree is a liberal arts degree with a flexible program of study and a required minor in another discipline.

Students pursuing either degree must audition and be accepted by the music department as either a singer or instrumentalist (brass, woodwind, percussion, string or keyboard instrument.)

The Music Minor is a 23 credit program for those interested in pursuing additional study in music along with a major in another area.
