BFA UW-Milwaukee (Music Education); MM UW-Madison (Performance/String Pedagogy); additional postgraduate credits from VanderCook, UW-Madison and the West Allis Schools.
Biography
2009-2010 is Steven Rindt’s first year as director of the UW-Whitewater Chamber Orchestra. In addition, Mr. Rindt is the Director of Sinfonia for the Milwaukee Youth Symphony and new Associate Director of Orchestras at New Berlin Eisenhower. Since 2000, Mr. Rindt has served as a conductor of the Junior Orchestra and a member of the string education faculty at the Interlochen Arts Camp and has served as a conductor/educator at the UW-Whitewater Summer String Camp since 2002. In 2009 he retired as director of orchestras at Nathan Hale High School and Hoover and Madison Elementary Schools in the West Allis School District and post Director of Orchestra at Marquette University for the past two years. Mr. Rindt received the Music Teacher of the Year Award from the Civic Music Association of Milwaukee in 2001, and the Music Teacher of the Year Award from Classical Music Station WFMR in 2006.
