Changes new for this year include a Friday evening concert performed by the Chicago Chamber Musicians in the Young Auditorium and the opportunity for interested students who are already accepted to UW-W and the music department to audition for the music major program!
Greetings and welcome to the homepage for the Southern Lakes Select High School Band Festival. This event is designed to bring the finest high school wind, brass and percussion students from Southeastern Wisconsin and Northern Illinois to the UW-Whitewater campus for an intense two-day musical experience.
The festival will culminate with a concert under the direction of the 2010 guest conductor Dr. Todd Fiegel. In addition, the students will have the opportunity to interact with UW-W faculty through concerts, sectionals, master classes, and a chair placement for the ensemble.
It is hoped that this experience will provide a rewarding and enriching opportunity for all involved. We look forward to making this event a success and in order to do that we need your participation. Please feel free to review the information and download an application for review.
