The UW-W Dance Company is dedicated to the promotion of dance throughout the campus and community. Dance Company sponsors such opportunities as attending professional dance company performances in the region, dancing in classes or choreography by guest artists, performing and/or choreographing for Dance Company produced concerts and receiving support for attendance at dance conferences such as the American College Dance Festival Association annual conference. Dance Company strives for the inclusion of students across many disciplines, creating a diverse group with a common interest in dance.
There are 2 Student Reps in the Theatre/Dance Department. One Student Rep is elected every semester at the Major/Minor meeting and serve for one year. The Student Reps are the voice of the students at Department meetings. This is a very important position because it helps lessen the gap between the students and faculty. Any concerns or suggestions that need to be addressed in the Department should be expressed to the Student Reps.
Each Department in the College of Arts and Communication has 3 students that serve on the Advisory Council. It is a lot like the Student Rep positions but on a grander scale. The Department elects 3 students to serve on this council at the spring Major/Minor meeting.
