The Management Computer Systems (MCS) major is an interdisciplinary program combining faculty from the Management Department in the College of Business and Economics with their colleagues from the Department of Mathematical and Computer Sciences in the College of Letters and Sciences. The major offers a unique blend of computing and management skills designed to harness computer technology to the needs of a wide variety of business, industrial, financial, governmental and educational organizations. Graduates are trained in the areas of programming, systems analysis/design and network management/administration with a strong background in business. Typical entry level positions include programmer, programmer/analyst, network engineer, network management/administration and PC support. The field offers tremendous potential for rapid advancement. The MCS major can be taken in either the College of Business and Economics for a BBA degree or in the College of Letters and Sciences for a BS degree (listed in the College of Letters and Sciences).
