This four day overnight camp is designed for high school students interested in becoming a teacher. Participants will be able to engage with current UW-Whitewater education students and faculty. Students will have firsthand experience of participating in education courses. A technology for education workshop and a library tour will be included as well. There will be time for evening activities such as bowling, swimming and movies. This camp is available to students entering grades 9-12 in the fall of 2019, including graduating seniors.
The enrollment in the camp is limited to 50 campers in order to maximize opportunities for individualized attention.
Registrations accepted online until noon 6/19/19. We do accept walk up registrations, if not sold out.
Resident Camper: $250
Resident campers will be housed in one of the residence halls located on the UW-Whitewater campus. The residence hall has a secured entrance and the campers are monitored by the residence hall directors, assistants, and by our own camp counseling staff. Roommate requests will be honored when possible; otherwise campers are paired by age and gender. Developing new friends is encouraged. Rooms are double occupancy only. Please note that our residence halls are not air conditioned. We strongly advise campers to bring a fan if possible. The bathrooms and showers offer clean, individual stalls for privacy. Resident campers will have three well-balanced meals each full day. Meals are included in the registration fee.
The resident camp fee covers lodging, meals, instruction, a camp t-shirt* and insurance.
*T-shirts are guaranteed if registered by 6/14/19.
