Pay:                                       $8.50 per hour



Hours Per Week:             Part-time, 15-20 hours per week (or more)

                                                Full-time employment may be available during the summer.


Shift/Work Days:             Flexible hours, Monday-Friday, between 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.


Minimum Requirements of Employer


Education:                          Must be a student enrolled in Graphic Design; one graphic design course (Art

                                                Studio 382 preferred or equivalents; related class, field or equivalent

                                                related work experiences will also be considered.


                                                Note:  Students must be enrolled at least half-time or have been

                                                accepted for such enrollment for any on-campus employment.  This

                                                position is available as a Federal Work-Study position or a regular

                                                payroll position.  Students are limited to a maximum of 30 hours a

                                                week during periods of enrollment (while taking classes).



Qualifications:                   Graphic artist must be proficient in the area of computer graphics

                                                & design and graphic arts applications including:

·         Photoshop

·         InDesign

·         Illustrator

·         Excel


Knowledge, Skills

& Abilities

·         Knowledge of commercial art and graphic arts software.

·         Ability to create artwork through use of design tools & imaging.


Duties and Responsibilities of the Job:

                                                The Computer Graphic Artist student is responsible for producing

                                                graphics and artwork for the university through the use of digital

                                                and graphic arts techniques.  Work is performed under the general

                                                supervision of the Continuing Education Services Department.


                                                The Student Computer Graphic Artist for Continuing Education


·         Provides graphics support services to faculty and staff

·         Designs and produces university print materials from ideas to completed originals

·         Serves in a support role to complete a variety of university projects on deadline

·         Works collaboratively with university clients to meet their graphic design and publication needs

·         Prepares artwork & text for print by creating composite proofs, separations and prepress reports

·         Proofs completed work projects

·         Sets priorities for meeting completion dates

·         Accepts delegated responsibilities as assigned

·         Projects a positive and professional demeanor in the workplace and campus community

·         Retouches and colors correct photos electronically.


Examples of artwork produced:


·         Conference booklets and programs; brochures and flyer for university offices, departments, camps, conferences and seminars

·         University letterhead, business cards and envelopes

·         Advertisements and promotional pieces

·         Posters, display boards and presentation materials

·         Additional print collateral
